Caroline Credle, Miss Clayton’s Outstanding Teen 2018
My favorite memory or appearance during my first 90 days was…
The North Carolina Special Olympics. Getting to take pictures and sign autographs for the athletes made me feel like a true queen but being able to talk to them was incredible. Their happiness and kindness shinned. Saying something as simple as congratulations made them so happy and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to spend the night with such inspiring people.
Something that you should know about my Carolina Princess is…
Not only is she kind, sweet, and funny but she is so hard working. She had set a personal goal for herself to raise $250 for CMNH even though Carolina Princesses aren’t asked too and she accomplished that. Also, any appearance she attends, she works hard and is always so helpful. I am so thankful to have Leigh Anna by my side!
Something that I want the community to remember about me is…
I want the community to remember me as very friendly and involved. I consider myself a very kind and caring person and I want the community to be able to see that through the appearances I make and the people I encounter.
Something that I want the community to remember about my platform is…
How important caregivers are. One of the reasons I started my platform, Care Baskets 4 Care Givers, was because I understand how hard a caregiver works and how little appreciation they get through having my aunt with Down Syndrome live with my family for a couple of years. I want the community to be able to see the caregivers just as much as the people they are giving care to. I want my actions through giving out Care Baskets to remembered so that the community can continue to give thanks to caregivers even after my reign.
Before I give up my crown, my goal is to…
Expand my platform. Right now my platform, Care Baskets 4 Care Givers, is focused on caregivers of special needs but there are so many other types of caregivers in the community. Before the end of my year I want to be giving Care Baskets to nurses, military, and many others that give care.
To me, Miss America is about…
Empowering women to be confident in who they are. As I prepare to compete at Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen in less then 2 weeks, I am contently reminded that I am competing against myself. I think this is a big part of Miss America because by doing this, I working on bettering myself and making sure everything that I do is truly me!
The best advice I have received while preparing for the state pageant was…
Be yourself!!!!!! As I was preparing I found myself trying to please everyone and I wasn’t really being myself. As continue on to the state pageant this is what I am going to be reminding myself and others daily.
My advice to anyone thinking of competing for a title next year is…
Go for it!!!! It doesn’t matter if you have done this all your life or have never done it before, if you are thinking about it, do it. From my limited experience in pageants, I always do it for fun, to make friends, and most importantly for confidence. I know anyone who participates will not regret it even if the outcome isn’t the crown, you gain so many different skills in the process!
Anything else we should know about your first 90 days?
In my first 90 days I have done lots of preparation for the state pageant and I hope to make the community of Clayton proud as I represent them on the Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen stage. Also, I am so thankful to have the opportunity to serve Clayton and can’t wait to be in the community even more to follow!
