Taking place at the Clayton Center in Historic Downtown Clayton, North Carolina, this was the first year for the Miss Clayton titles and sixth year of Miss Capital City. Over $2500 in cash scholarships were awarded, in addition to many in-kind offerings and partnerships for the coming year. Winners will go on to compete for the titles of Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen in Raleigh in June 2015.

Kensley Leonard, promoting her platform “Behind the Screen: Cyberbullying in America Today,” was selected as the first ever Miss Clayton. In addition to the scholarship money, Kensley received the Congeniality award from her peers and was chosen by the judges for top scores in Swimsuit/Fitness and Talent. Kensley’s fundraising efforts earned her the Leadership award as well. Miss Clayton’s Outstanding Teen 2015, Lauren Walsh, is an advocate for “Spark the Flame, Encouraging Volunteerism.” Lauren earned an award for Leadership in her division, as well as the award for the highest score in Talent competition.

Kacy Lee, honoring “The Foundation for a Better Life,” earned the title of Miss Capital City 2015. Kacy’s scholarship money is accompanied by awards for top Talent score and a tie for Swimsuit/Fitness in the Miss Capital City competition.
